As a generation laden with student debt, college is an interesting subject for millennials. Many of us are still paying off our own student loans when we begin to have kids and people start asking us about saving for their college. I hadn’t even built Fuss Fish’s crib the first time I got asked about his college fund!
For millennials, college wasn’t what it was for our parents. It didn’t necessarily mean a good job right out of school or a cushy salary. More people than ever are graduating and moving back home. Research has even suggested that student loans pushed out the age millennials got married and had kids!
So, as our kids get older, how do we talk to them about college? Are we willing to pay for everything? How do we spare them the pain we faced while letting them have some of the lessons we learned?
I am so excited to be featured on Debt Discipline today for my very first guest post to discuss just these questions! Go on over and check it out!
